Abstract
First, a simple method, derived from the cavity model of microstrip antennas as well as superposition theory is presented here. Then, the characteristics of MSA loaded with shorting-pins, including electromagnetic field distribution and resonance and impedance and radiation, are analyzed with the presented method. Finally, analysis of a rectangular MSA loaded with a single shorting-pin is given to show the validity of the present method.
