            Abstract :
A novel WLAN access point antenna with omnidirectional coverage was proposed. The nearly omnidirectional radiation pattern characteristics allow the antenna to more effectively cover a spherical space, such as a multi-level structure. It was observed from measurement results that a 3D radiation pattern with less than 8dB difference between peak and minimum gains was achieved. Through the addition of small traces and using a single component to avoid changing the current distribution and hence radiation pattern, a well matched antenna with a nearly spherical radiation pattern was obtained.
