Abstract :
The characteristics of radiation from a semi-infinite waveguide with an impedance flange are analyzed using the variational approach. Stationary functionals are developed for the input admittance, radiation field, and field of surface waves along the flange. The single-mode approximation was used for derivation of simple applied formulas.
