Abstract :
Core Radio Frequency (RF) Engineering is a department within Sprint: a national telecommunications corporation that is responsible for the design, planning and network operation for sustained coverage, capacity and optimization. It coordinates efforts with the regional field engineering departments for meeting those objectives. Core RF Engineering was tasked to develop an RF University Curriculum Management Process (RU-CMP) for Sprint´s network engineering services organization that would enhance the knowledge and skill level of RF engineers to do their job in a more effective manner. A steering committee of 20 members from various management and engineering ranks, represented equally by Core RF, the West, the Central, the South and North Eastern regions was founded. The Chair of the steering committee leads the management of the process, works with the University of Excellence (UoE) to develop and integrate requested courses and organizes the biweekly meetings for the continuous improvement of the process.
