Abstract :
For obtaining powerful THz emission of radiation we offered to use CS2 molecules pumping in the 1000-0001 channel by the radiation of TEA CO2 laser working on lines of the 0111-1110 hot band (λ∼11.4 μm). In this case THz radiation can take place in the 0001-1200 channel of CS2 molecules (λ∼117 μm). Our calculations show that for the pressure of the active medium ∼0.1 atm (L∼1 m, V≈0.1 liter) and pumping energy 1 J output energy can achieve some tens mJ and the peak power >0.1 MW. The efficiency of transformation of the energy pumping into THz radiation can reach several percents.
