Abstract :
Out of order arrival of packets is an inevitable phenomenon on the Internet. In this paper, we present a novel reordering mechanism. The scheme uses a new metric to decide the degree of disorder of the arrival packets. Based on the metric, we select one of three algorithms included in our mechanism to reorder the packets. This approach guarantees the efficiency of reordering.
