  • Abstract
Reactions between epoxy compounds (phenyl glycidyl ether and butyl glycidyl ether, epichlorohydrine and propylene oxide) and titanium tetrachloride are studied. Is shown that epoxy ring-opening leads to the formation of corresponding Ti-alkoxides in which OTi-group attaches to the secondary carbon atom. The synthesis of phenyl glycidyl ether in the phase-transfer catalysis conditions in the presence of quaternary ammonium salts in the aqueous alkali at room temperature is elaborated.
