Abstract :
The total oxidation of methane has been studied over Pt (0.12 wt%-0.9 wt%) catalysts supported on Ot-Si3N4. The catalysts were characterised by chemical analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The correlation between the expected and real Pt content of the catalysts was established. It has been found that the catalytic activity of Pt catalysts depends strongly on the mean particle size. The decrease of activity of the platinum catalysts due to the sintering of metallic particles was observed under the reaction conditions.
