Abstract
The Department of Civil Engineering of Tomsk Technological Institute was just only 28 years in 1930 when it was transformed into the Siberian Institute of Building (Novosibirsk). It was here that the Siberian base of engineering and architectural education was generated, which served as the basis of scientific directions during this short time for a higher school time. Some professors and graduates of the institute become the largest specialists in various areas of construction and architecture. We can estimate their contribution not only for Tomsk and Siberia, but also for all of Russia.
