Abstract
Although several applications of independent component analysis (ICA) reported in the literature are related to physics, none have focused on the analysis of data typical of energy spectrum measurements. The present work has identified promising opportunities for future exploration in this area. Preliminary results are reported for some particular applications including one that improves the analysis of angular distribution spectra from nuclear reactions and one that is effective for the analysis of resonance data.
