  • Abstract
The gold nanocrystallites orientation on nanocrystalline silicon substrates is of great interest for applications in biochemistry; the Au (III)/nc-Si surface has a higher density of atoms comparatively with Ai(100); this favors the attachment of a higher number of atoms and biomolecules on the gold surface. In this paper the variation of the gold structural characteristics on different Si nanocomposite layers, as a function of temperature annealing are investigated by SIMS, SEM and X-ray diffraction methods. The attachment of the DNA fragments on the PCR microreactor surface functionalised using Au(III)/Si or Au(III)/PS nanocomposite layers, was found extremely efficient and uniform.
