Abstract :
This article presents an intelligent strategy for managing the resources of the multimedia wireless ATM (WATM) personal communication network. The pivotal goal of the strategy is to preserve the quality of service (QoS) requirements for real and non-real time services while attaining maximum throughput. To minimize the access time of time sensitive connections and increase the throughput performance while maintaining the required QoS variable length control minislots were deployed. Simulation results indicate that the proposed protocol respects the required QoS of each traffic category while providing a high efficient utilization of 98.8% for the wireless ATM link
