Abstract :
In this paper, we proposed three improvements on the traditional active shape models, which make the active shape models execute more accurate for face alignment. These improvements including: group method for avoiding to create a distorted shape; best direction and extended width for search profile; enhanced edge profile for special landmark points on the cheek contour of face shape
