Abstract :
Incorporating certain kinds of congestion relief and control capabilities in network nodes is one of the hot topics in the current research of network congestion control. Previous marking algorithms have deficiencies in the fairness among different service types. In this paper, we propose an adaptive bandwidth-fair marking algorithm: afbTCM; the design principle and architecture are discussed in detail, and by using simulation experiments, the effects of three factors (RTT, desired speeds and "unresponsive streams") to the fairness of afbTCM are examined, and compared with trTCM, tswTCM and ItswTCM algorithms. Experimental results show that afbTCM algorithm achieves improved fairness.
