Abstract :
A new approach for region labeling by using double pulse coupled neural networks (PCNN) and morphology is brought forward in this paper. Firstly, a preliminary result is obtained by using one PCNN, and then further operates on the result image using the other PCNN and morphology: uniting small region; edge extracting and thinning; region labeling. The results of computer simulation show that the method is valuable for image processing research.
