Abstract :
Using the method of Green\´s function in the Coulomb gauge, we calculate analytically the scalar potential and density of induced charges on the cylindrical drift tube walls caused by a moving weakly-relativistic point-like charge. In the quasielectrostatic approximation the force acting on the charge ("self-action") from the charges induced by it on the drift tube walls is obtained as a function of the radial distance from the axis of the tube. Interpolation expressions are built for the force. Obtained results allow one to estimate the influence of cylindrical drift tube walls, when studying the dynamics of nonneutralized particle beams moving in complex electromagnetic fields by the particle-in-cell method.
