            Abstract : 
We report the first cw and femtosecond laser operations of a diffusion-bonding hetero-composite Yb-doped crystal: Yb3+:SrY4(SiO4)3O||Y2Al5O12 {YAG||SYS:Yb}. 130-fs pulses at 1070 nm have been obtained in the watt range.
