Abstract :
The article consists of a Powerpoint presentation on a comprehensive defense plan against wide area disturbances and improving restoration. The paper concludes that incorporating the latest advances in sensing, communication, computing, visualization, and algorithmic techniques into wide area monitoring, protection, and control systems, provides a cost effective solution to increase system security and phasor measurement technology and its´ applications and discusses the importance of implementing defense plan using SIPSs
