Abstract
A new type CPA has been put forward in this paper. In this CPA, permanent magnet is used to produce excitation field. By using permanent magnet, some advantages are achieving about the whole system of CPA such as smaller volume, less complexity and higher reliability. The basic structure and principle of PMCPA are introduced. Detailed descriptions of the PMCPA with design consideration and fabrication techniques are reviewed in this paper. FE method is used to simulate the field during the CPA design and discharging process.
