Abstract :
A novel single-mode dispersion compensation fiber (DCF) is fabricated and characterized. Designed to compensate a low-kappa (-50 nm) non-zero dispersion shifted fiber, this DCF achieves record low untrimmed C-band residual dispersion and large effective area.
