Abstract :
We demonstrate supercontinuum generation in large mode-area microstructured fibers by launching ns pulses from a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser into the fiber. The continuum is smooth, covers all the telecom transmission bands and is well-suited for characterization of WDM components.
