Abstract :
Hole whispering gallery lasers from a 3D semiconductor microcavity exhibit micro-ampere thresholds, potentially reducible toward the nano-ampere operation, due to the photonic (de Broglie) quantum corral effect imposing a λ/2 period transient ordering upon the photonic quantum rings (PQRs) of imminently recombinant carriers. Cooperative small hole arrays like 256×256 quantum ring emitters turn out to be very promising for constructing practical dense electro-pumped mega-to-giga emitter chips.
