Abstract :
We achieved variable dispersion compensator using a Virtually Imaged Phased Array (VIPA) with a wide pass band width by employing a high refractive index material to the plate. The channel spacing of the device is 100 GHz, and the extended pass band width is sufficient for 40-Gbit/s signals.
