Abstract :
This paper describes the work to unify a data exchange environment based on EDIF. Concepts of common specification, common data structure, and common EDIF reader/writer to synchonize the interpretations of EDIF syntax and semantics in an EDIF-based data exchange environment are introduced. An EDIF-compatible database which improves the speed of the data manipulation and generates portable, standard EDIF is also described.
