Abstract :
A set of multimode fibers have been created that in combination with launch and offset patchcords comprise a set of reference links. Several techniques for characterizing the links have been employed, each bringing unique insights to the nature of the link responses. By considering the results of each of the measurements, a better understanding of the type of stress that a links presents to an adaptive equalizer is achieved. Finally, a method to reduce the error in these measurements has been employed in practice
