Abstract :
We present a performance specification language called PDL. Both static and dynamic performance attributes can be specified using PDL. PDL is based on attributed grammars. Applications of PDL include performance specification, performance measurement and verification. PDL brings the same advantages to the performance domain that HDLs bring to the functional and structural description domains. This paper discusses the semantics of PDL through examples.
