Abstract :
The paper presents variants of a time model relying on time space structure rather than on numerical values used to measure time. The model can be used in modelling the time based behaviour of various artefacts. Discrete versus continuous time modelling is also discussed and a way of modelling time-continuous behaviour is proposed. The ability to provide a generic model of time is essential for information modelling domains such as VHDL.
