            Abstract : 
System penalties from temporal gain variations in time-division multiplexed Raman pumping are experimentally quantified. For a 100 km span with 15 dB on/off Raman gain, the pump frequency repetition rate should exceed 10 kHz for less than 0.5 dB penalty
