Abstract :
We demonstrate straight-line transmission of 40 wavelength channels of 80 Gb/s data over a distance of 735 km on NDSF fiber using terrestrial fiber spans ranging from 75 to 100 km (16 to 25 dB span loss). The channel center frequency separation is 100 GHz for a spectral efficiency of 0.8 bit/s/Hz.
