We propose a simple concept to implement a direct-detection DQPSK transmission to double the transmission rate. The robustness of RZ-DQPSK towards nonlinearities is investigated in a 8times80 Gb/s WDM-system over 400 km SSMF and compared to 8times40 Gb/s RZ-ASK
