Abstract :
In this paper, we introduce a rigorous computational method for the evaluation of the band structure of magnetic photonic crystal (MPC) slabs. With the help of this method, the full-wave analysis of the structure can be reduced to the analysis of an equivalent multi-conductor transmission line. In this work, we present a semi-analytical characteristic equation for the evaluation of the band structure of MPC slabs. It is shown that MPC slabs can offer band gaps for both TE and TM modes, simultaneously.
