Abstract :
In this paper, we demonstrate a novel design of CPW-fed rampart slot array for 850GHz photonic transmitter application. In our design, the photonic transmitter consists of a DC bias pad, a CPW low-pass filter and a CPW-fed rampart slot array antenna connected to a metal-semiconductor-metal traveling-wave photo-detector (MSM-TWPD). This device is fabricated on GaAs substrate and placed on a piece of glass, being advantageous for the integration with the excited edge-coupled laser beam. The high-gain design has potentially wide-range application such as short-distance wireless communication and material identification.
