Abstract :
In this paper, a low profile, high reliability, high performance 3dB multilayer hybrid coupler using LTCC is designed and manufactured. It is designed particularly for balanced power and low noise amplifiers, plus signal distribution and other applications where low insertion loss, tight amplitude and phase balance is required. In this design, high performance (VSWR of each port is less than 1.35; the isolation is more than 20dB; the amplitude balance is ±0.5dB; the phase balance is 90±2°; the highest power the coupler can be used in is up to 200W.) and small size (8mm×5.6mm×2mm) are gained within 6-13GHz frequency band. The operating temperature of the coupler is -55 to +85°C.
