Abstract :
In this paper, an approach is suggested for leaky suppression of the first higher order leaky mode in microstrip line structure with multilayer substrates. In the approach an additional metal strip is inserted at the interfaces between the dielectric layers of the multilayer substrate, in such a way the leakage can be restrained effectively. Numerical results demonstrate that a suitable choice of dimension or the offset of the addition metal strip can obviously decrease the leakage of the first higher order leaky mode in a. designated frequency region.
