Abstract :
In this paper a novel cross-shaped patch antenna is presented. Various size reduction techniques have been investigated and the best solution is utilized to reduce a conventional probe fed rectangular antenna by 89%. A bandwidth of 8% is achieved. The antenna is small and is suitable for wireless portable devices.
