Abstract :
A fast and accurate computer-aided design (CAD) tool of passive devices in rectangular waveguide technology including cylindrical conducting posts is fully described. This tool is based on the boundary integral-resonant mode expansion (BI-RME) method and a multimode integral equation technique, thus resulting numerically efficient and therefore very appropriate for iterative optimization procedures. The advantages of the new CAD tool have been proved with the successful design of a tunable inductive filter, a dual-mode filter with tuning screws, and a very wide band mode-launcher with a 45° conducting post.
