Abstract :
We report on the enhanced performance of a Fabry-Perot open resonator operating at 60GHz using the cavity-length variation technique. Due to the systematic progress in both hardware and software, this system is now able to provide a 10 nm resolution in the dimension changes of the cavity movement. Compared to a 20 nm resolution we constructed previously, this improvement guarantees a better and more accurate system to measure the permittivity and loss tangent of dielectric materials.
