Abstract :
A left-handed material with a simple structure in microwave frequency is proposed. It is composed of the shunt capacitors in a waveguide that can be easy fabricated using multi-layer PCBs. The dispersion relation of a mode in the structure has negative slope. The move of the wave field and the Poynting vector are presented. The wave propagating in the opposite direction to the power flow, which is the characteristic proper to left-handed material, is shown.
