Abstract
Geographical routing protocols have been received serious attention due to their advantages as compared to conventional routing protocols. They require information about the physical position of nodes to be available. Commonly, each node determines its own position through the use of Global Positioning System (GPS) or some other type of positioning service. Greedy routing (GR) protocol, which is one of geographical routing protocols, limits the forwarding decision of the packet based on location information of the current forwarding node, its neighbors, and the final destination. Location information has some inaccuracy depending in the localization system and the environment. In this paper, we study the impact of mobility metrics (node speed, beacon interval, transmission range) on introducing location information inaccuracy in GR protocol, which affect the performance of it. We also identify the effect of these metrics in GR as Neighbor Break Link (NBL) problem and non-optimal path problem. To mitigate these problems, we propose angular prediction (AP) model.
