Abstract
The proliferation of WLAN networks as access points become cheap commodity items have welcomed multiple services and applications running on them. QoS implementation in wireless systems is by far equivalent to their wired counterparts. In order to further improve the level of service offered, we have experimented with some application level adaptive techniques. In this paper, we explore different adaptation mechanisms to provide QoS in adverse situations where guaranteed QoS mechanisms are insufficient
