Abstract :
By using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems the equalization of frequency selective channels simplifies to a number of parallel MIMO detections. In order to gain from frequency diversity and of the correction capability of the code within a successive interference cancellation (SIC), forward error correction should be implemented for each antenna separately. In this paper we present a novel, computational efficient implementation for SIC in such a per-antenna-coded MIMO-OFDM system. It utilizes a parallelized version of the SQRD algorithm in order to achieve the same detection order for all subcarriers. In comparison to the most applied schemes from literature our approach requires only a fraction of computational complexity with almost the same performance
