Abstract :
The need to understand the behavior of complex engineering structures under a complicated set of loading together with the concurrent development of digital computers and engineering software made it possible to carry out more complicated calculations and analysis. e-engineering, on the other hand, has broadened to encompass new jobs and ways of working during the last few years. This paper discusses recent applications of computer modelling by the author in the design and analysis of various civil engineering structures in different parts of the world, and addresses the role of e-engineering in transferring information, organizing discussion sessions, conferencing and providing technical advice on line. The important role of both IT and e-engineering in improving communications between the project team members and achieving an optimum way of transferring information promptly and cutting costs is also highlighted
