Abstract
Since Zachman´s seminal framework, enterprise architecture (EA) has become essential to manage information systems evolution with a global vision. Our experience at Renault showed us that arbitration is one of the top issues of these projects. Indeed, although it is well accepted that EA studies should be rational, in practice decisions are often vaguely documented and based on informal arbitrations. Because of the size and complexity of the systems and projects at hand, arbitration in the context of EA is not an easy task. This paper presents the NENO method for arbitration in the context of EA. NENO has been designed and evaluated in partnership with Renault. The paper focuses on the process proposed by NENO to guide arbitration in the context of EA
