Abstract :
In this paper, we propose an improved embedded wavelet image coding based on zero-blocks and array structures - called I-EZBA. Then, we discuss the hardware realization of the technology. Its main purpose can reduce memory utilization on building significance map of sub-bands for EZBA, and omit a great deal of compared operation and time. It has the near coding efficient as EZBA, but it can save much cost and processing time. Finally, we propose various experimental results to prove that basic EZBA algorithm outperforms other wavelet-based image coding schemes, and show the difference of the architectures of EZBA and I-EZBA
