Abstract
Current Internet IP layer is divided into multiple domains, which are managed by different service providers, operating different architectures, providing different services and having different business strategies. Traditional techniques to ensure reliability are often useless, for example due to providers which don´t want to disclose their internal topologies to outsiders. In this paper we discuss some approaches to counter these problems, allowing successive improvements by relaxing constraints and permitting additional sharing, thus reducing significantly the total number of optical links needed. We highlight the best possible solution, and introduce our new ILP-formulation to optimize the routing of demands. We finish by comparing the new results with values from our previous papers
