Abstract :
In order to meet the customers´ expectation on infotainment on-board of passenger train, the digital passenger information system (DPIS) fully integrating passenger information with interactive communication, entertainment and video surveillance systems had been developed. The traditional client/server model, with a typically single or small cluster of servers and many clients, doesn´t fully adapt to interactive communication of the DPIS, as plenty of audio, video and data for exchange among passengers are involved. Taking advantage of the autonomy, mobility, and efficiency of mobile agent in accessing and processing data, an interactive communication in the DPIS based on peer-to-peer and mobile agent is established. And the architecture, communication process and security of the aforementioned interactive communication are addressed. Then, a travel information terminal for onboard passengers is designed as the interconnecting and interactive equipment of passengers. The DPIS is suitable for both new trains and refurbishment of existing fleets
