Abstract :
To eliminate the bobbles and impurities among the steel products within the entire steel manufacturing process, a stirring system is generally desired to provide adequate electromechanical forces to the molten steel. As the induced eddy currents circulating in the molten steel is highly dependent on the magnetic fields and the physical operational environments. By carefully taking the relative system arrangements and parameter settings into account, this paper present the detailed three-dimensional (3-D) investigations of the desired system information through 3-D finite element analysis (FEA), and the operational behaviors of the in-mold electromagnetic stirrer can thus be thoroughly predicted in both steady state and dynamic conditions
