Abstract
To improve the reliability and performance of communication networks, it is important to quickly and accurately localize its topology faults. In this paper, an approach based on undirected graph and probability theory is put forward to localize topology fault of networks. This approach determines the possible fault set of network devices at first, and then exploits probability theory to choose the most possible fault device subset, thereby determines the root cause of faults. The practical results show that, the approach is quite helpful to recover networks from topology faults
