            Abstract :
In multi-band orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MB-OFDM) wireless personal area networks (WPAN) system, a robust signal detection algorithm is required for practical hardware implementation. In the literature, the signal detection algorithms for OFDM are based on correlating the received signal with a time delayed replica of itself. The result of correlation is then compared with a threshold value. The selection of the threshold value is very important for correct packet detection. Because of the characteristics of the channel environment, the determination of a threshold value is not a trivial task. In this paper, a structure for packet synchronization in MB-OFDM is designed which has a peak detector. In this case, the determination of the threshold value is eliminated by finding the peak values of the correlation value using our proposed algorithm
