Abstract
The development of a simple low-cost RFID reader is presented. The RFID reader can operate in the frequency range between 2GHz and 2.5GHz. The reader is consisted of three main sections: AC (power supply) section, digital (control) section and the RF section. Amplitude shift keying (ASK) demodulation (envelope detector) is used for decoding the signal from the RFID transponders. Simulated and measured results are presented in this paper using Agilent´s ADS 2005A software
